Windows 7 crash with Unikey?

When i used Windows 7, i had a problem with Unikey and system file “taskhost.exe”. My Computer was not responding, i can’t used any software or start-up and shut-down

I found this tip on Internet and i could solve my PC.

Enjoy it.

Disable RACTask

  1. Open up Task Scheduler.
  2. Expand and go to Task Scheduler Library -> Microsoft -> Windows -> RAC.
  3. Click on View menu, and then enable Show Hidden Tasks (so that a tick appear beside it).
  4. Right click on RACAgent (Windows Vista) or RACTask (Windows 7), and select Disable so that the status appears as Disabled

or

Stop Taskhost.exe from crashing in Windows 7

windows7build7068[1]

On my setup I’ve noticed that taskhost.exe crashes repeatedly (just about every hour or so on my install) caused by RacEngn.dll (Windows’ Reliability analysis metrics calculation engine). Whilst this is no biggy, it tends to get annoying since Win7 wants to report the error every time it occurs.
To stop this error from recurring / coming back, you must first take ownership if the guilty dll. So this is what you gotta do:

Go to C:\Windows\System32 and find the file RacEngn.dll. Then:
Right-click | Properties | Security
Click on Advanced | Owner | Edit
Add / Change the current owners to Administrators
Click OK and OK again (to close Properties and allow for the change to take effect)
Re-open Properties | Security
Click on Edit
Make sure that all listed Groups / user names get full Permissions (you may need to check-mark all available options under Allow)
Click OK and OK again (to close Properties and allow for the change to take effect)

Now rename RacEngn.dll to RacEngn.dll.stopped (or anything else you prefer). I would not recommend deleting the file in case you want in back later for whatever reason.
You do NOT need to log off/on or restart for the changes to take effect.
